HUIZHILI "汇治理"
About
The HuiZhiLi is a lightweight district-level management mini program, primarily serving three types of users: district residents, district staff, and district officials.
In this project, we reexamined the product positioning of the mini program and proposed corresponding functions after the pandemic. As the first phase of the project, we delivered a proposal that includes the main page features and a design system tailored to the Xuhui brand.

As the pandemic ends, many products created during the COVID are being phased out or greatly changed. Hui Zhi Li 3.0 is adapting from its original form as a simple pandemic management tool into a full digital governance platform. The goal is to design and develop new features that improve how data is handled and analyzed. This will help district managers make better decisions and run their areas more effectively.
This project aimed to design and develop an integrated platform that encompasses services and governance with characteristics of Xuhui district:
1. Providing convenient community services for citizens
2. Offering more efficient community governance functions for community workers
3. Facilitating community managers with more straightforward data visualization for better district management.
In this project scope, we are focusing on defining the homepage features for district officials and staff.
Original Design (District Officials)
Original Design (District Staffs)
By conducting heuristic evaluation I have found three key perspectives of the current product to improve:
After our team talked with the district officials and staffs at the big data center, I have defined the features and structure of the main page for each user.
Redesigned Main Page (District Officials)
Redesigned Main Page (District Staffs)
Updating data modules based on recent urban development priorities and customize the homepage display for quick access to relevant data.
Providing personalized, customizable data dashboards, users can flexibly choose module data under four major categories to meet various governance needs.
Extracting key information and place it up front to enhance browsing efficiency. The district operation data overview offers a clear understanding of daily conditions, while the operational dashboard provides notifications for data changes
Comparing past data to create a trend overview enhances the ability to predict future developments and facilitates decision-making for district officials managing the area.
Shortcuts for frequently used apps on the homepage to improve efficiency.
Establishing unified UI design guidelines to create a consistent brand identity for Xuhui's governmental services, facilitating the promotion and marketing of its services.
This was my first time working as a project manager for a government product. As both a UX designer and project manager, I learned that introducing a new feature requires understanding not only the user's needs, but also the complexities of the departments involved. Communicating and keeping everyone up to date with design updates is key to project management; having the engineers, staff, designers, and strategists in the meeting every week was helpful in making sure the design was feasible and keeping track of the project's progress.
